Chris Harris read physics at Oxford University, graduating in 1979 and completing a doctorate in theoretical physics there in April 1983. After postdoctoral work at Edinburgh University in the area of percolation theory he joined Shell at the end of 1985. He has carried out research in a variety of subjects in both the upstream and downstream parts of Shell. From late 2001 to mid-2014 he was involved with Shell’s Unconventional Oil (now Unconventional Technologies) group and its predecessors, in Houston and Canada. His last assignment with Shell, in The Netherlands, was in storage and containment, addressing issues varying from induced seismicity due to fluid injection and production, to CO 2 storage. Since retiring from Shell in August 2018 he remains engaged with statistical seismicity, geothermal energy and pore-scale physics..

Dr. Kumar has 20+ years of experience in inventing and developing advanced modelling and predictive simulations technologies with a focus on High Performance Computing (HPC) computational fluid dynamics software (CFD). He (2014-present: Associate Professor "tenured", 2008-14: Assistant Professor) has graduated many students (both PhD and MS level), supported by federally funded projects (mostly Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Defenses (DOD)). He did his postdoctoral research at Princeton University (2007-08, Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory) and Rice University (2005-07, Physics and Astronomy, Space plasma simulations). He received his Bachelor’s degree from IIT-Kanpur (Aerospace Engineering, 1997) followed by Application Engineer (1997-99, Fluent India, now owned by ANSYS Inc.) & PhD studies at Rice University (Mechanical Engineering, 2005). Dr. Kumar brings extensive research and management experience in research and academic duties including many years of experiences at Sandia, and other DOE and DOD National Labs as visiting professor and sabbatical. He has made significant contributions in advanced M&S through extensive scholarly publications (peer-reviewed journal and conference proceedings, reports, book chapters, patents, etc.), software development, and grant acquisitions.

Sukhi Lamba, Financial/Marketing Adviser/Officer

Michigan Ross - MBA , South Carolina - MS Mechanical, IIT Roorkee - BE Mechanical
Sukhwinder (Sukhi) started his professional career working in computer-aided engineering (CAE) using simulations to design products at Ford Motor Company. After that he went on to manage the most complex program in Ford history after Model-T, the first Hybrid Electric Vehicle (Escape SUV).After finishing his MBA, Sukhi moved to IBM Corporation in management consulting practice, where he created financial and operational business models for clients. Later, he switched to enterprise software sales area at IBM and was able to grow the business by five times in four years. Post-IBM, Sukhi has initiated and headed sales at various Silicon Valley software startups, creating market traction.
Sukhi has a strong passion for serving the community. He has been spearheading IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Mentors program in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past seven years. The program mentors IIT alumni in entrepreneurship and corporate tracks in a pay it forward model. As part of the program, Sukhi had also initiated alumni special interest groups (SIG) in Big-Data, Internet-of-Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain.
Sukhi holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, India. Later he did his Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of South Carolina with Thesis in Computational Analysis and an MBA from University of Michigan, Ross School of Business, Ann Arbor.
